Run your first task
Start with one small job and an output you can open. This checks your selected model, file access, tools, and result before you entrust a longer task to Agentlas.
1. Install Desktop and connect a model
- Download the release for your operating system from the official Desktop page, open it, and sign in.
- Open Settings and connect the subscription CLI, BYOK provider, or local model you intend to use. Complete sign-in or key setup for that connection.
- Select the model for the conversation. If it needs a connection, finish that step before sending real work. Available model and effort choices depend on the connected provider.
2. Give the task its inputs
One is the personal conversation where you can explain a job and follow its progress. Project work keeps the team's files, tools, and outputs together. Use a project for work that will continue across several tasks, or attach the small set of files needed for this task.
Choose the folder through the app when file access is needed. Confirm the actual files are reachable. Connect any required service in the tools page, and complete sign-in in the Agentlas browser for work on a website.
3. Ask for a checkable result
State what to make, which input to use, where to put the result, and how you will judge it. Set the task's permissions to fit the work. Start with reading and summarizing before a task that changes files or sends information.
Read the attached document and create a one-page summary. Include the three main findings and a source reference for each. Save the result in the selected project folder, and show me the file so I can review it.4. Review progress and open the result
- Read the conversation's progress and any question or connection request. Supply a missing input in the same conversation.
- Open the result or generated file from the output panel. Check the content, references, and destination against your request.
- For a website change, upload, or message, inspect the destination as well as the agent's answer. A draft file alone does not show that something was sent or published.
- If something is missing, give a focused follow-up in the same conversation. Use Stop to interrupt current work, and review the retained state before retrying an action with an external effect.
A selected model, a signed-in account, and a running indicator each describe a different step. Your first test is complete when you can open the requested result and verify it.
