What is Agentlas OS

Agentlas OS is the open-source command surface that builds, routes, verifies, and packages agents on top of the LLM you already have a subscription for. Hephaestus is the engine underneath it; Agentlas OS is the project name on GitHub.

Where it fits

Agentlas OS (Hephaestus)

Open-source engine + LLM command adapters. Runs inside Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Antigravity, Cursor, or as the standalone `agentlas` Terminal.

Agentlas Desktop

Visual app that runs the same engine, plus screens for automations, the agent library, and multi-agent execution.

Agentlas Hub

Public marketplace to publish and borrow agents built with this engine.

Agentlas Cloud

Owner-private storage for packages you built, restorable on any signed-in supported host.

None of these require the others. Installing the plugin doesn't require Desktop; borrowing from the Hub doesn't require you to have built anything.

BYOM — bring your own model

Agentlas OS doesn't serve or bill for model inference. It runs on the coding-CLI subscription you already have (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Antigravity) or a BYOK key. That's why installing it doesn't ask for a separate API key.
