memz by Agentlas
Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 5, 2026
This policy is written for a local-first product today and planned cloud services later. It reflects data minimization, source traceability, and user control principles.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Agentlas collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you use memz, including the mobile app, website, waitlist, account features, cloud synchronization, backup, AI-assisted recall, support, and related services.
memz is designed to be local-first. Some data may remain only on your device unless you choose to use cloud, sync, backup, account, sharing, support, AI, or other online features.
2. Information we collect
Account information: name, email address, sign-in identifiers, authentication records, subscription status, and account settings.
User content: photos, screenshots, audio, notes, text, files, labels, source metadata, memory clusters, prompts, questions, and related materials that you add to the Service or choose to sync or process through cloud features.
Device and usage information: device type, operating system, app version, language, region, diagnostic logs, feature usage, crash reports, performance data, and security events.
Payment information: payment status, plan, billing metadata, and transaction identifiers. Payment card details are typically handled by third-party payment processors or app stores.
Communications: messages you send to Agentlas, waitlist submissions, support requests, survey responses, and feedback.
3. Local-only data and cloud features
For local-only features, content may stay on your device. Agentlas cannot access local-only content unless you export it, share it, contact support with it, or enable a feature that sends it to cloud services.
If you enable cloud synchronization, backup, account, collaboration, AI-assisted recall, support, or similar online features, relevant content and metadata may be transmitted to and stored or processed by Agentlas and service providers.
You can choose not to use cloud features, but some functionality may be unavailable without them.
4. How we use information
We use information to provide, operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.
We use information to organize sources, generate memory clusters, answer user questions, show source references, synchronize data across devices, provide customer support, manage subscriptions, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
We may use aggregated or de-identified information to understand product performance and improve the Service.
5. AI-assisted processing
If you use AI-assisted features, relevant prompts, source content, metadata, and outputs may be processed to generate summaries, classifications, clusters, answers, transcriptions, or recommendations.
Where practical, we design AI features to use the minimum information needed for the requested task and to preserve links back to source materials.
We will describe any material model-training, retention, or third-party AI provider practices in the applicable product setting, plan description, or updated policy before public cloud launch.
6. How we disclose information
Service providers: we may disclose information to vendors that help us provide infrastructure, storage, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, email, payments, support, security, and AI-assisted features.
Legal and safety: we may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, Agentlas, or others.
Business transfers: information may be disclosed or transferred as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.
With your direction: we may disclose information when you choose to export, share, publish, sync, connect, or otherwise direct us to transfer it.
We do not sell personal information in the ordinary meaning of exchanging it for money. If future advertising, analytics, or partner integrations create a legal opt-out requirement, we will provide the required controls before using those integrations.
7. Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, and support legitimate business purposes.
Local-only data remains under your device controls. Cloud data may remain in backups for a limited period after deletion before it is overwritten or securely deleted.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information.
You may be able to manage local content in the app, disable cloud features, delete synced content, change account settings, or contact us for privacy requests.
We may need to verify your request before acting on it. We will not discriminate against you for exercising rights provided by applicable law.
9. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No service, network, device, or storage system can be guaranteed to be fully secure.
You are responsible for securing your device, app-store account, email account, authentication methods, and backups.
10. International transfers
Agentlas and its service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from your local laws.
Where required, we will use appropriate transfer mechanisms for cross-border processing.
11. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice through the Service, by email, or by another appropriate method.
The updated policy will be effective when posted unless a later date is stated.
