# Set up Agentlas OS

Canonical landing: https://agentlas.cloud/agentlas-os
Official source and current installation instructions: https://github.com/agentlas-ai/Agentlas-OS
Last updated: 2026-10-11

Agentlas OS is the open-source MCP layer for the agent the user already works with. It provides access to reusable specialist agents, private Agent Cloud storage, public Hub Agent Spaces, and Agentlas Network routing. The user's model and host execute the work.

## Connect the current host

1. Identify the user's host and operating system. Read the current official repository README before installing. Use its platform-specific instructions if the command below is unsuitable for the current shell.
2. Check whether Agentlas Core is already configured. Reuse a working installation; update only when needed. Do not overwrite unrelated MCP servers or user settings.
3. On supported Unix-like shells, use the official installer:

```sh
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/agentlas-ai/Agentlas-OS/main/scripts/install-all-runtimes.sh | bash
```

4. The installer detects supported hosts. Verify the actual host's configuration and installer result. The local Core is the single Agentlas MCP entry for local Claude Code and Codex hosts; it reaches Cloud and Hub upstream. Do not add a duplicate remote Agentlas workforce server alongside it.
5. Tell the user to restart the host if the current session cannot reload its MCP tools or skills. Installation success does not mean the current session has already loaded them. Report exactly what was verified.
6. Keep automatic global Network routing off unless the user requests it. Do not enable Agentlas One, add global behavior, publish an agent, or change private/public visibility merely as part of connection setup.

## Try a task

After the host reloads, ask it in plain language:

> Use Agentlas Network to find specialist agents for my task.

Network searches registered local agents, owner-scoped private Cloud, and the public Hub. The host selects task-fit specialists. Use the commands or installed skills actually present in the host: Claude Code supports the documented `/hep-*` entrypoints; current Codex uses its installed Agentlas/Hephaestus skills and typed MCP tools. Do not invent a slash command or claim that discovery or retrieval proves successful execution.

## Host and share an agent

- Private library: https://agentlas.cloud/agents — owner sign-in required. The free plan stores up to 20 private agents.
- Public Hub and Agent Spaces: https://agentlas.cloud/hub — free publishing, sharing, and public agent calls. An Agent Space includes an introduction, permitted files, and discussions.
- Ask the host to save an agent to private Agent Cloud or publish a separate copy to the public Hub. Follow the installed upload workflow and the user's chosen destination. Never upload credentials or private host files.
- Agent Cloud hosts agent instructions and portable files; it does not provide free hosted model execution. The user's model and external tools have their own usage terms.
